Prestwick Youth Film Society Launch Announcement

Wonderful news! We are thrilled to finally announce the formation of Prestwick Youth Film Society, the appointment of our Academy Board, and our exciting collaboration with Ayrshire Film Company as our official media partner.

Founded in our 90th Anniversary year, Prestwick Youth Film Society will provide an extracurricular platform for learning through the magic of film. Open to pupils of Prestwick Academy with an interest in filmmaking, film production and film presentation, planned activities include in-school film screenings, analogue projection workshops in the Broadway, and even filmmaking opportunities.

We are also delighted to announce the Broadway’s third annual Academy Board of Directors, formed of senior pupils of Prestwick Academy! Our sixth-year team will be led by Caitlin Caufield, Niamh McLafferty, Cerys Stewart, and Evie Tougher, acting as the voice of the young people in the community and ensuring that our journey to re-opening is shaped by the future generations it will serve.

Finally, we can’t wait to continue our collaboration with Ayrshire Film Company as our official media partner. From their fabulous live coverage of Prestfest 2024 hosted within the Broadway, to TV Ayrshire’s excellent documentary on the Broadway’s past, present, and future; we cannot wait to see what the future holds for our partnership.
