The Tea Room

The Broadway’s tea room is amazingly well-preserved. Surviving elements include the glass clock, light fittings and wood panelling.
Light floods in from Main Street through tall windows. Golden motifs resembling pyramids are still visible on the ceiling. The original furniture was also exotic gold, and the walls a vibrant orange!
Catering was provided by neighbouring sweetie shop Gardiner’s. The shop was connected to the Tea Room by a staircase and dumbwaiter (a small lift for food).
