Funding Awarded by the Community Empowerment Fund

Thank you to South Ayrshire Council for awarding the Broadway £12,000 towards building costs through the Community Empowerment Fund!

The Community Empowerment Fund is awarded by South Ayrshire Council, and in the latest round our charity Friends of the Broadway Prestwick was successful with an application for £12,000  This funding allows us to take a pivotal next step to bringing the Broadway back.

This crucial funding allows us to move forward with the first phase of a new visitor experience for Prestwick. Firstly, the funding will be utilised to complete essential improvement works to the Broadway's entrance canopy on Main Street. The Broadway truly will be looking her best at 90!

We will also carry out a full refit and refurbishment of the Leisure Centre-era toilet block, bringing the facilities back into use again.

Most importantly, the funding will allow the addition of all-new accessibility aids for the foyer, including a disabled access ramp and additional handrails that will ensure the entire ground floor of the Broadway, including the auditorium, is fully accessible for the first time in the building's history.
