Oral History Experience Announced for Community Land Festival

Visit the Broadway to participate in our first official oral history workshop to celebrate the Community Land Festival!

ree

The Community Land Festival is an annual celebration of community landowners and their achievements, and this year the Broadway’s foyer will be host to an exciting oral history workshop! At Friends of the Broadway, we aim to preserve our nation’s collective memory of cinema-going by

collecting your memories of the Broadway, other local cinemas of Ayrshire and all across Scotland! We want to paint a vivid picture of our country’s journey from the early days of the moving image, through the golden-age of cinema, the rise of the multiplex, and up to the present day. Share your memories, and help us protect our history!

📅: 1st - 2nd November 9am to 5pm

📍: Broadway Cinema, 80 Main St, Prestwick

We are the only Ayrshire-based organisation hosting an event this year, so pop along, share your cinema memories, and support us in our journey to re-opening the Broadway Cinema.
