Broadway Youth Film Society Expansion to Ayr Academy

The Broadway Youth Film Society launches at Ayr Academy!

Following yesterday’s announcement of our Young Start funding award, we are thrilled to share that we are expanding the Broadway Youth Film Society project to additional schools in Ayrshire.

Now open to all pupils of Ayr Academy with an interest in film and media, the Broadway will now bring the same exciting opportunities to the young people of Ayr as well as Prestwick, with further expansion on the horizon.

We aim to deliver immersive learning opportunities for young people through film, from production to presentation. The lost art of film presentation through analogue projection is a key element of the Broadway’s future, and projection and film-making workshops have already taken place with students from the first established film society branch at Prestwick Academy.

We are delighted to now offer these same opportunities to the young people of Ayr!

At Friends of the Broadway, we want the young people in our community to be in the driving seat of our efforts to bring the Broadway cinema back to life. Look out for more updates on the Young Start programme and the Broadway Youth Film Society on our social media in the future!
